Planning a trip for a large group can feel overwhelming — but it doesn't have to be. After hosting thousands of family reunions, church retreats, girls' weekends, and corporate events over the past 18 years, we've learned a thing or two about what makes a big group trip run smoothly.

Here's our step-by-step guide to planning the perfect large group getaway in Branson.

Step 1: Pick Your Dates Early

Large vacation homes book up fast, especially during peak season (June-August) and holiday weekends. Start looking at least 3-6 months ahead. Weekdays and shoulder seasons (April-May, September-October) often have better availability and lower rates.

Step 2: Choose the Right Property

This is the most important decision. Consider the size of your group, how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need, and what amenities matter most.

Our properties range from 2 to 10 bedrooms and can accommodate groups up to 32 guests. For very large gatherings, we have neighboring properties that can be booked together. For example, our three Chateau Cove lodges (Game Day Lodge, Green Gables Lodge, and Cedar Rock Lodge) sit right next to each other and can host up to 89 guests combined!

Use our search filters to narrow down by group size, bedrooms, and amenities like pet-friendly, hot tub, or lakefront.

Step 3: Plan Your Meals

One of the biggest advantages of a vacation home is the full kitchen. For large groups, we recommend a meal-sharing plan where different families or subgroups take turns cooking. Our larger homes have seating for 20-30 at dining tables, and many have two full kitchens.

Plan a few restaurant outings too — Branson Landing has great options, and the Showboat Branson Belle dinner cruise is perfect for groups.

Step 4: Book Your Activities

Branson has something for everyone, which makes it perfect for multi-generational groups. Some popular group activities include Silver Dollar City, a day on Table Rock Lake, shows like Sight & Sound Theatres and Dolly Parton's Stampede, and nature experiences at Dogwood Canyon.

Step 5: Communicate with Your Group

Create a shared document or group text with the property address, door codes (sent before arrival), house rules, local recommendations, and a rough itinerary. We send all check-in details 3 days before arrival.

Step 6: Enjoy the Togetherness

The best part of a vacation home is the shared experience. Game nights around the pool table, morning coffee on the deck with lake views, evenings by the fire pit — these are the moments your group will remember long after the trip is over.
